Altered Book using Textiles, painting, collage, knitting, pencil, weaving. 8 inches x 7 inches x 12 inches. 2020.
Bonnie : "I conceptualized the idea to create an altered book commemorating the 100th Anniversary of the 19th Amendment to the United States Constitution that gave women the right to vote. For the five months I was receiving art the artworks went from being solely about the celebration of the Centennial to containing images that were referencing voting but more about the current state of voting affairs in the United States.
From the beginning of the project it was never lost on me that here we are one hundred years later still trying to exercise our right to vote, but this time it was everyone in the United States.
The artists in this altered book are from members of Southern California Women's Caucus for Art Chapter and other National WCA Chapter members."
