Visithra : "I turn 40 this year. For the last 30 years of my life I have suffered from 'the haze', poor air quality. That is more than half of my life.
Every year I hear Indonesia blame Malaysia and Malaysia blame Indonesia. Every year both countries say this will be the last time. Every year, they say they have set up a committee to tackle the haze Every year the haze returns and the cycle continues. Every year it gets worse. Our air quality is only getting worse everyday. One day we will all have to wear masks to go outdoors. This is our future.
In addressing the haze that Malaysia has been plagued with for the last 30 years, I created a performance act that was called : 'The Fashion Show of the Future' where the painted gas mask was modelled as the 'In Thing' of the future. "
