Hand embroidery on linen. 2018
Nikkita :" This artwork references the EU referendum vote that took place in 2016 and how the majority of the people in the North voted to remain with the EU. This piece is inspired by the border issue will there be a hard border between the North and South of Ireland or will there be a customs border down the Irish sea (the colour blue is to represent the Irish sea, which is one of the possibilities for the UKs customs border). This piece is embroidered on Irish linen to relate back to my Irish identity."
