Amy : "Crocheted using leftover yarn, stuffed with the waste fabric from a clothing factory and supported by Grandad's old walking stick, this piece considers the environmental impact of 'waste' and the challenges faced by future generations if we fail to respond to pollution.
My works here use waste materials from the work of other artists...the bits of yarn they throw away, the old clay offcuts, etc...to create my pieces, accompanying them with a body of research into the global concerns arising from the accumulation of these waste materials....I spend so much time out in the world trying to 'clean up' and change habits regarding care for our planet, that I lack time to spend photographing work ! I do not title my work generally as I feel this limits the viewers understanding and I intend each to be responded to without any limitations to the imagination !"
