Hand embroidery on fabric, 12 inch hoop. 2018
This embroidered image is inspired by Brexit (Britain's exit from the European Union) and what will happen to the Irish border. Ballyconnell is a village in county Cavan (in the South of Ireland) which borders county Fermanagh (in the North of Ireland) and this image is taken on the Derrylin road with the black embroidered line across the road to show where the border is. In this piece I also reference how border communities both North and South are against Brexit and will not accept a hard border of any kind.
