Hand and machine embroidery on cotton, 48 x 38 cm, 2018.
Nikkita : "This piece is a response to Brexit (the British government's plan to 'Exit' from the European Union) and how the North of Ireland and Scotland said 'No' to this in a Referendum. Despite this rejection of Brexit Theresa May (who is the leader of the conservative Party, and the UK’s prime minister) is a key person to include in my collection. A main issue with Brexit is what will happen to the Irish border between the North and South of Ireland. I collaged letters to form text taken from recent newspapers, this is to represent how we read and hear about the on-going Brexit negotiations."
