Clay on canvas, acrylic. 2016
Kseny : “This is my series of small canvases about the problem of the objectivization of women's bodies. In Russia the feminist movement isn't really strong now. I still see that women are treated like nothing. We have several organizations that try to protect victims of domestic violence, who face anger and victim-blaming from both society and government structures.
This year (2016) we had an inspiring protest flashmob (#imnotafraidtosay) that made me create these small canvases. They show that clothes alone cannot be a protection against violence and abuse. Anything can be seen as a red rag for those who treat women like meat."
