This life-size glass sleeping figure was made as part of a UK Arts Council funded residency at the Glass Hub in the UK. The artwork was made to highlight the growing number of hidden and invisible homeless people. This figure is a transient and fragile form.
In addition to the homeless people we see on streets close to our homes, there are thousands of hidden homeless people we may not see. For example, in 'developed' societies they may be in hostels, squats and other forms of unsatisfactory and insecure accommodation. In less developed societies there are many millions more with very poor, or no homes.
