Hand and machine embroidery on cotton, 47.5 x 33.5 cm, 2018.
This piece is a response to Brexit (the British government's plan to 'Exit' from the European Union) and how the North of Ireland and Scotland said 'No' to this in a Referendum. Nicola Sturgeon is a Scottish politician who is the current First Minister of Scotland and leader of the Scottish National Party (SNP), who is a key person to include in my collection. A main issue with Brexit is what will happen to the Scotland if they leave the single market. I collaged letters to form key quotes by Sturgeon, taken from recent newspapers, this is to represent how we read and hear about the on-going Brexit negotiations.
